DESCRIPTION:Time: 10.00am – 1.00pm (3 hours) \nDate: Tuesday 21 April \nLocation: Online (Zoom) \nPresented by: Christina Keeble \nThis webinar will provide carers with a well-rounded introduction to the Autistic profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)\, also known as Persistent Drive for Autonomy\, along with related strategies. \nAs a result of participation in this activity carers will: \n\nHave an understanding of what demand avoidance is including the different types of demand avoidance and when it becomes a problem\nHave an understanding of the potential ‘why’s your PDA child or young person may respond with certain behaviour and why certain strategies aren’t working\nHave added some strategies to your current caring toolbox\nHave resources to explore further\nIncrease your confidence in your understanding of PDA\nIncrease your confidence in supporting the PDA child or young person in your care\n\nThis session is presented by Christina Keeble\, an Autistic ADHDer and proud parent to two neurodivergent children. Christina blends her lived experience with extensive professional expertise across education\, psychology\, and inclusion. She has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)\, a Master’s in Special Education\, and a Graduate Diploma in Primary and Early Childhood Teaching. Christina has delivered impactful keynotes\, training\, and workshops to diverse audiences across Australia for almost 10 years. \nThe session is designed for kinship\, foster and permanent carers.
