SUMMARY:Fostering resilience in children and young people in care
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday 23 June \nTime: 10.00 AM – 11.30 AM \nLocation: Zoom online \nJoin Michael Place for a 90-minute session designed to support carers in identifying and building resilience traits in children and young people. \nAs a result of participating in this training\, you will \n\nExplore how small\, consistent actions can become turning points in a young person’s life.\nBe able to identify and promote resilience traits in young people.\nHelp young people become the best versions of themselves.\nFeel better prepared for your caring responsibilities.\n\nAfter spending time in foster care himself\, Michael dedicated his research to uncover what created positive outcomes for young people during and after care. Michael holds a master’s degree in psychology and brings nearly ten years of experience delivering resilience- and trauma-informed training to parents\, leaders\, and carers. \nFostering resilience is a combination of his personal story and his professional findings in positive psychology research. Carers can expect to learn powerful evidence-based insights through a narrative lens. After the session\, Carers will leave with a completed Fostering Resilience Checklist to help them intentionally cultivate resilience long after the session ends. \nThe session is designed for kinship\, foster and permanent carers.
