DESCRIPTION:VACCA Cultural Day – Booln Booln Cultural Centre\, Wathaurong Country \nFree event for carers of Aboriginal children \nDate: Tuesday 26 May \nTime: 9:30 AM – 1.00 PM (Lunch will be provided) \nLocation: 410 Surf Coast Hwy\, Charlemont VIC 3217 \nThis cultural day for carers will bring people together to yarn\, learn\, and connect to Wathaurong Country. Celebrate storytelling and cultural connection through the creation of traditional bush dolls. Participants will use natural fibres and fabrics to craft dolls or animals that represent spirit\, family\, and place. This workshop provides insight into the role of dolls in Indigenous culture and fosters a space for creativity\, sharing\, and connection. \nCarers will then be invited for a lunch together. \nAs a result of participation in this activity\, carers will: \n\nHave greater confidence caring for an Aboriginal child\nIncrease their understanding of Aboriginal culture\, history\, identity\nImprove their ability to support a child’s cultural connection\nCreate connections with other carers\n\nA $50 digital gift card will be emailed to you after the session to assist with travel and childcare costs. \nThe session is designed for kinship\, foster and permanent carers. \nLink to Event Flyer
