The session provides resources and connections to resources to help support carers. \nThis workshop explains the changes in clear and intuitive language\, particularly highlighting the strategies that will give children and young people in care the best outcomes. A range of resources will be shared. \nThese workshops have been presented to over 2\,500 people since 2018. They have been co-delivered by Mark Ryan from the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (CFECFW)\, together with a member of the education team at Advocating for Children with a disability (ACD). This experience is complimented by degrees in welfare\, education\, counselling and suicidology. DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday 13 March \nTime: 10 am – 12.30 pm \nOnline \nThis session builds on the Emotion Coaching steps provided by Joanie Bartolo in session 1 (see 20 February) and then moves on to explore anger – what is underneath and how to respond and support children and young people. \nCarers will need to have registered and participated in session 1 if they wish to join this session. \nJoanie Bartolo is the Principal Consultant at Emotion Wise. She is a qualified social worker and an accredited Tuning in to Kids®  and Tuning in to Teens® practitioner. Joanie has worked with children and families for 25 years and has been a consultant for over 10 years. She has a particular passion for working with children who have experienced trauma and believes in fostering the relationship between children and their families.

In this session\, carers will learn: \n\nStrategies to nurture your compassion and prevent fatigue\nPositive psychology interventions that you can embed into your day to enhance wellbeing\nStrategies to support yourself during stressful days and challenging moments\nThe benefits of peer support with the opportunity to connect with other carers during the session\n\nThis session is presented by Megan Corcoran\, Director of the Wagtail Institute and trauma-informed wellbeing consultant. Megan is an experienced teacher\, leader\, university lecturer and workshop facilitator. Megan has successfully presented this content for Carer Kafe in previous retreats and workshops where carers have reported improved confidence in applying self-care strategies\, managing stress\, and a greater sense of connection with peers. \nThe session is designed for kinship\, foster and permanent carers
