Carer Kafe – Code of Conduct for Participants
Carer Kafe provides Learning and Development opportunities for home-based carers—kinship, foster, and permanent—in Victoria. These include both face-to-face and online sessions.
Everyone has the right to a safe, respectful, and positive experience when taking part in Carer Kafe activities. To support this, we’ve developed the following Code of Conduct, which applies to all participants, staff, and trainers.
By taking part in Carer Kafe sessions, you agree to:
• Treat others with respect and dignity
This means:
- Listening actively and allowing others to speak without interruption
- Using respectful and inclusive language
- Respecting the diversity of all participants
• Respect others’ privacy
This means:
- Keeping personal information shared during sessions confidential (with the exception of any mandatory reporting requirements)
- Being mindful of others’ experiences and boundaries
We also encourage all participants to let Carer Kafe staff know about any concerns that may affect the safety or quality of our services.
