Supporting Children and Adolescents through Big Behaviour

By participating in this webinar, carers will:

  • understand the origin of feelings, behaviour, and regulation;
  • respond effectively when young people are dysregulated
  • hold strong, loving boundaries while preserving influence, connection, and felt safety;
  • understand how to respond when there is a boundary or relational collision in ways that preserve relational safety;
  • the origins of challenging behaviour and how to respond effectively;
  • proactively support young people and implement practices that minimise the incidents of challenging behaviour.

There will be time for questions.

This workshop is presented by Karen Young, who began her career as a psychologist in private practice and is now recognised as a leading authority on child and adolescent anxiety. Karen created Hey Sigmund – Building Courage in Kids & Teens With Anxiety, an internationally popular online resource, is the author of 5 books, has appeared on television and radio, and has proven popular in presenting previous Carer Kafe webinars.

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
