Supporting young lives: Trauma-informed and positive approaches

Wednesday 2 April

10am – 12pm

Zoom online

Join Megan Corcoran for a 2-hour webinar where you will learn:

  • The importance of using trauma-informed approaches to support the wellbeing of children and young people, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Evidence-based strategies for fostering autonomy and creating a secure base, empowering children to thrive.
  • Practical positive psychology interventions that can be seamlessly integrated into daily and weekly routines to enhance mental wellbeing.
  • A comprehensive model of wellbeing, building both understanding and capacity for supporting the mental health of children and young people in care.

This session is presented by Megan Corcoran, Director of the Wagtail Institute and trauma-informed wellbeing consultant. Megan is an experienced teacher, leader, university lecturer and workshop facilitator. Feedback from Megan’s previous sessions have been overwhelmingly positive, with carers reporting increased confidence in using the above strategies, noting a significant boost in both personal resilience and their ability to nurture their child(ren)’s mental health.

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
