An exploration of DDP PACE for children in care

Time: 10.00 AM – 3.30 PM

Date: Saturday 9 May 2026

Location: Online (Zoom)

Presented by: Lorren Arezio, Clinical Psychologist

By participating in this webinar, you will:

  • Gain an overview of the DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Practice) framework.
  • Explore as part of this model, what the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) ‘Attitude’ is and what it is not.
  • Understand how the PACE ‘Attitude’ is helpful in remaining connected when children and young people in care are pushing back or reacting to our approaches to care for them.
  • Have the opportunity to give PACE a try and to explore the various ways this ‘Attitude’ can be helpful for both us as adults as well as the children and young people in our care.
  • Understand what can get in the way for us in being PACEful and take us off track.
  • Understand how best to understand ourselves as well as the children we care for and how PACE can help to maintain connection together.

This webinar is presented by Brisbane based Clinical Psychologist Lorren Arezio. She has worked in the area of relational trauma, child protection and family stress and disruption for over 20 years, providing therapy and support to children, adults and families in both government and private settings. She works from a trauma and attachment lens and is an accredited DDP and PACE Trainer. She is also a wife and mother of 3 now adult children, the youngest of whom was adopted. Lorren brings this combined experience to help children and families to thrive.

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
