Beyond the Ban: Guiding Kids in Care Through Social Media Shifts

Time: 7.00 PM  – 8.30PM

Date: Tuesday 18 November

Location: Online (Zoom)

Presented by: Evolve Education

Preparing neurodiverse children, or those with a trauma background, for the upcoming national ban of social media for 0–16-year-olds.

Carers will leave with practical tools to:

  • Understand what the social media ban will likely look like and the implications for the ban come December 2025.
  • Understand the emotional and developmental needs driving social media use
  • Respond in ways that reduce conflict while increasing safety
  • Set healthy, respectful boundaries even in high-emotion moments
  • Support digital connection while minimising digital harm
  • Prepare children for the upcoming social media ban with empathy and structure
  • Tailor their approach to children with trauma histories or who are neurodivergent

Evolve’s trainers are trusted eSafety providers with a high level of industry experience and a Bachelor of Education background. They have a background of working in and with schools and acknowledge the unique challenges families currently face in the digital space. They have been providing digital safety and wellbeing programs to Carer Kafe for over 3 years.

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
