Online Safety and Wellbeing for Children in Care (0-18 Years)

This session will include exploring the emerging risks of AI, including exploitation and deepfakes, equipping carers with the skills to:

  • model safe and healthy practices in the home
  • participate and encourage help-seeking
  • communicate openly about online risks and rewards
  • supervise and support

These outcomes will empower carers to take proactive steps in protecting children and young people and promoting a positive, healthy approach to digital wellbeing.

The presenters Steve Villani and Rebecca Martin from Evolve Education (the IVET Group) are passionate about ensuring children and young people have safe online experiences and develop positive relationships with technology. They both have a background of working in and with schools and acknowledges the unique challenges families currently face in the digital space.

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
